Shree Sashibhushan Mahadev (Bhidbhanjan Mahadev)

Shree Sashibhushan Mahadev (Bhidbhanjan Mahadev): This temple is located on the seashore between Veraval and Patan. It is popularly known among people as 'Bhidia'. There is a temple of Bhidbhanjan Ganpatiji here. At this place, Som (the Moon God) performed a Yagna to get freedom from the curse of Daksha Prajapati. It was from this spot that a hunter named Jara accidentally struck Lord Krishna with an arrow; therefore, it is called Baanganga. Bhav Brihaspati built this temple at the same time the Somnath temple was being constructed. During the invasions of other religions, when there were obstacles in performing Puja and rituals at the Shree Somnath temple, those activities were completed in this temple. Therefore, this temple holds as much importance as Somnath.
